Sunday Mirror - THE MOST EXPENSIVE MP
FORMER army major Eric Joyce has been widely condemned as Britain’s most expensive MP after details of his massive expense claims emerged.
He is the first MP to have milked pounds 1million in expenses, much of it in business class airfares between London, where he lives, and his Falkirk constituency, where he rarely spends more than a night.
In 2008, the Commons fees office wrote to Mr Joyce, highlighting three journeys costing pounds 4,985.60 he had paid for using his MP’s travel card.
The card is for parliamentary duties but he used it to pay for trips to Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Japan.

And three years ago we revealed how Joyce sent his children’s nanny on holiday, using air miles he clocked up on parliamentary business.
Then it was revealed that the London home he sold in 2008 was described as a “tip” by the new owners, who said the property was damp, filthy and flea-ridden - even though Joyce claimed pounds 120,000 in MP’s expenses to maintain it.
